Noorderzon Groningen in Groningen
Noorderzon is an annual performing arts festival held over roughly ten days each August in Groningen's Noorderplantsoen park. Combining theatre, dance, music, and visual arts programming with a festival village of food and social spaces, it has grown into one of the larger performing arts festivals in the Netherlands since its founding in the early 1990s.
Groningen's Noorderplantsoen is a nineteenth-century public park laid out in the English landscape style, a green space that has served the city's northern edge as a place for walking, relaxing, and gathering for well over a century.
