Harlingen Fishery Days in Harlingen
Visserijdagen Harlingen, or Harlingen Fishery Days, is an annual maritime festival held in the last week of August in the Frisian port town of Harlingen. Running since 1959 and now spanning five days, it draws more than 170,000 visitors with markets, music, folklore, and a signature fleet parade of historic and modern ships entering the harbor, making it the largest festival in Friesland.
Harlingen sits on the Wadden Sea coast of Friesland, a working port town whose economy has long depended on fishing and maritime trade.
