Redhead Days in Tilburg
Redhead Days is an annual festival in Tilburg celebrating people with natural red hair, drawing attendees from around the world each late summer. Founded by a Dutch painter who originally sought red-haired models for a portrait project, the event has grown into one of the largest gatherings of natural redheads anywhere, with activities including group photographs, market stalls, and social events.
Natural red hair occurs in only a small fraction of the world's population, a genetic trait more concentrated in parts of Northern Europe than almost anywhere else, and it was this rarity that indirectly gave rise to one of the more unusual festivals on the Dutch cultural calendar.
