Auckland Pride Festival in Auckland
Auckland Pride Festival is New Zealand's largest Pride celebration, running throughout February with more than 230 events including the Auckland Pride March. Founded in 2013 as a successor to the 1990s Hero Parade, it navigated a major 2019 split over uniformed Police participation and now marks milestones including the 2026 fortieth anniversary of Homosexual Law Reform.
Auckland's tradition of a major LGBTQ+ public celebration predates Auckland Pride Festival itself by two decades.
