Waikato Show in Hamilton
The Waikato Show, officially the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Show, is a three-day regional show held each late October at Claudelands Events Centre in Hamilton, New Zealand, tracing its roots back to 1892. Organized by the Waikato A&P Association, it features livestock competitions, equestrian events, sheep dog trials, woodchopping, and trade stalls, drawing farming families and the wider public alike.
New Zealand's A&P, or Agricultural and Pastoral, shows date back to the colonial farming societies of the nineteenth century, when regional associations organized competitions to showcase the best livestock and encourage improvement in local breeding stock.
