Homegrown Wellington in Wellington
Homegrown is an all-New-Zealand-artist music festival that ran on the Wellington waterfront for eighteen years before relocating to Hamilton's Claudelands Oval for its 14 March 2026 edition. Descended from the Hamilton-based extreme-sports festival X-Air, it has grown from around 10,000 attendees to more than 23,000 across five stages in its later Wellington years.
Before it was Homegrown, the festival existed as X-Air, an extreme-sports event staged on the Waikato River in Hamilton and hosted at Claudelands for three years, with a music programme running alongside the sports as a secondary drawcard rather than the main event.
