Fiestas Patronales de La Concordia in La Concordia
Fiestas Patronales de La Concordia celebrate Nuestra Senora de Lourdes, the town's patrona since 1899, when La Concordia received her image. Festivities span roughly ten days across the first two weeks of February, culminating on February 11 with a solemn mass led by the diocesan bishop and a procession through the main streets. Pre-dawn alboradas with fireworks and chichero band music mark the nights leading up to the main celebration in this Jinotega highland town.
Tucked into the Jinotega highlands, La Concordia holds a festival rooted in an act of devotion more than a century old.
