Fiestas de Santo Domingo Managua in Managua

Fiestas de Santo Domingo is Managua's principal patron saint festival, honoring Santo Domingo de Guzman. It begins on the morning of 1 August with the Bajada del Santo, when the saint's old statue is carried from Las Sierritas Church in southern Managua to a church in the north, remaining there for ten days until the Subida del Santo returns it on 10 August.

Managua's most famous annual festival honors its patron saint, Santo Domingo de Guzman, through a tradition built around the physical journey of an old wooden statue across the city.
