Festival Vaquero Nueva Guinea in Nueva Guinea
Nueva Guinea's Festival Vaquero, part of a national circuit of cowboy-themed events held across six Nicaraguan municipalities, brings together livestock exhibitions, a float parade, and a vaquera fashion show over a weekend in April. The 2024 edition ran April 13 and 14 with cattle, poultry, and exotic animal displays.
In Nicaragua's South Caribbean region, the town of Nueva Guinea has grown around cattle ranching since its founding through mid-twentieth-century agricultural colonization, and that identity now has a dedicated annual showcase in the Festival Vaquero.
