Festival de la Paix en Zone Agro-Pastorale in Intchiriktene/Tanout

Festival de la Paix en Zone Agro-Pastorale (FESPAZAP) is an annual peacebuilding festival held in Intchiriktene, a village in the Tenhiya commune of Tanout department, Zinder region. Now in its third edition, it brings together traditional chiefs, herders, and farmers to ease tensions between agro-pastoral communities over land and water, combining official ceremony with exhibitions of local agro-pastoral products and Tuareg craftsmanship.

In the village of Intchiriktene, part of the Tenhiya commune in Tanout department of Niger's Zinder region, the Festival de la Paix en Zone Agro-Pastorale, known by its acronym FESPAZAP, gathers the people most affected by one of the Sahel's oldest sources of local conflict: competition over land and water between farmers and herders.
