Festival Africain de l'Art Feminin in Niamey
FESTAAF, the Festival Africain de l'Art Feminin, is an annual Niamey event celebrating African women's leadership in arts and public life. The fourth edition, held January 4-10, 2026, carried the theme Woman: be a lever of development for your nation, and included an exceptional State Leadership Trophy awarded to Togolese Minister and Secretary General Sandra Ablamba Johnson, alongside the festival's Prix Cultura Afrique Francophone.
Each January, Niamey hosts FESTAAF, the Festival Africain de l'Art Feminin, a festival built around a single organizing idea: that African women's leadership in the arts and in public life deserves sustained, dedicated recognition rather than occasional mention within broader cultural events.
