The Imoka Festival, also recorded as Imo-Oka, is a two-week festival of masquerades and dance held in Awka each May at the start of the farming season, honoring a female deity believed to make the land fertile. It runs from a visit to the community of Umuokpu to a closing pilgrimage to the Imo-Oka stream.
