LagosPhoto Festival in Lagos
LagosPhoto Festival is Nigeria's largest international photography festival, founded in 2010 by Azu Nwagbogu of the African Artists' Foundation. Held over roughly a month each October and November, it stages exhibitions across indoor and outdoor venues throughout Lagos and consistently draws more than 20,000 visitors from Nigeria and abroad.
In 2010, as Nigeria marked fifty years of independence, curator and arts administrator Azu Nwagbogu set out to build something Lagos had never had: a photography festival with genuine international reach, rooted in African curatorial voices rather than imported ones.
