Sallah is the collective name used across northern Nigeria for the twin Islamic festivals of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, marked by communal prayer, feasting, and, in the region's historic emirates, the mounted Durbar parades that pay ceremonial homage to local Emirs and their courts.
