Norwegian Short Film Festival in Grimstad
The Norwegian Short Film Festival, or Kortfilmfestivalen, has run since 1978, when it began in a small cinema in Roros before relocating to Trondheim in 1982 and finding its permanent home in Grimstad in 1988. It remains a key debut arena for young Norwegian filmmakers, awarding the Gullstolen, or Golden Chair, for best short film.
Long before Grimstad became its permanent home, Norway's short film festival had already moved twice, a restless start that in hindsight suits an event built around a format defined by ambition packed into a small space.
