Urs Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai in Bhit Shah
Bhit Shah's three-day Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, held each year from the 14th of Safar, attracts up to 500,000 devotees to the shrine of Sindh's greatest classical poet for Sufi music, poetry recitals, and an exhibition of traditional handicrafts honouring his message of peace and tolerance.
Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, born in 1689 and died in 1752, is widely considered the greatest poet the Sindhi language has produced, a Sufi scholar, mystic, and musician whose major work, the Shah Jo Risalo, remains foundational to Sindhi literary and musical culture more than two and a half centuries after his death.
