Karachi's three-day Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi, observed each year between the 20th and 22nd of Zilhaj at his fourteen-century-old shrine in Clifton, draws devotees for the Mehfil-e-Sama spiritual music gathering and a Naat competition praising the Prophet Muhammad, honouring an eighth-century Islamic mystic still central to the city's devotional life.

Abdullah Shah Ghazi was an eighth-century Islamic mystic whose title, Ghazi, meaning victorious, commemorates his resistance to Umayyad forces before he was ultimately persecuted and martyred under the Abbasid Caliph Abu Jafar Mansoor in 151 Hijra.
