Nabi Musa Festival in Nabi Musa/Jericho

Nabi Musa is a Muslim shrine and pilgrimage site in the Judean Desert about 11 kilometers south of Jericho, where local tradition places the tomb of the Prophet Moses. Since the Mamluk period, an annual week-long festival gathered Palestinian Muslims for a procession from Jerusalem to the shrine, timed to coincide with the Orthodox Christian Easter pilgrimage. Long suspended and revived amid political upheavals, it has continued intermittently since 2007.

Eleven kilometers south of Jericho, in the bare hills of the Judean Desert, stands the domed shrine complex of Nabi Musa, Arabic for the Prophet Moses.
