Festival de Arte Dule in Guna Yala/Panama City
Festival de Arte Dule celebrates the art of the Guna people, known to themselves as Dule, centered on mola textile art, beaded jewelry, and other crafts tied to the self-governed Guna Yala comarca. The festival showcases work by Guna artisans, most often women, whose reverse-appliqué mola panels are recognized internationally as a distinct textile art form.
The Guna, who call themselves Dule in their own language, are one of Panama's most visibly self-governing indigenous peoples, living primarily across the San Blas Islands and coastal comarca of Guna Yala along the Caribbean.
