Festival de San Sebastian de Ocu in Ocu
The Feria de San Sebastian in Ocu, Herrera province, honors the town's patron saint with religious observance, folk music and dance, and food from a farming community widely regarded by Panamanian folklorists as one of the country's most authentic keepers of interior campesino tradition and dress.
Ocu sits in Herrera province on the Azuero peninsula, a farming town of roughly seven thousand people whose economy still runs on tubers, yam, otoe and cassava, fruit and sugarcane, and cattle, much as it has for generations.
