Ruraq Maki in Lima

Ruraq Maki, hecho a mano is Peru's Ministry of Culture-run exhibition and sale of traditional handicrafts, held annually in Lima since 2007. More than 200 artisan collectives from as many as 22 regions sell textiles, retablos, masks, engraved gourds, ceramics, and other traditional work directly to the public, with 2025 sales topping 6.2 million soles.

Ruraq Maki, hecho a mano, roughly the maker, made by hand, began in 2007 as an effort by Peru's Ministry of Culture to solve a problem facing traditional artisans across the country: extraordinary skill with little direct access to buyers.
