Higantes Festival in Angono
The Higantes Festival is held each November 22 to 23 in Angono, Rizal, for the feast of San Clemente, the town's patron saint of fishermen, featuring a parade of giant papier-mache effigies known as higantes carried through the streets alongside costumed dancers and brass bands.
Angono, a lakeside town in Rizal province on the shores of Laguna de Bay, celebrates its town fiesta each November 22 and 23 in honor of San Clemente, the patron saint traditionally invoked by local fishermen for protection and a good catch, given the town's historic dependence on the lake for its livelihood.
