Banga Festival in Balanga
Balanga City, Bataan holds the Banga Festival each April 28 alongside the Feast of Saint Joseph, named for the Tagalog word for clay pot, a nod to the city's historic pottery-making heritage from which its own name is believed to derive, running since 2002. Launched in 2002, the festival ties the city's pottery-making past directly to its own name and identity.
Balanga City's name and its signature festival both trace back to the same humble object: the clay pot.
