Maytinis Festival in Kawit
Maytinis Festival is a midnight Christmas Eve reenactment in Kawit, Cavite, in which costumed participants on decorated floats portray biblical figures from Adam and Eve through King David, tracing salvation history in a tradition believed to be roughly three centuries old. The INA and AMA community groups serve as the main sponsors of the modern procession through town.
In Kawit, Cavite, residents mark the eve of Christmas each year with a tradition unlike most other Philippine Christmas observances: the Maytinis, a midnight reenactment staged as a procession of costumed floats moving through the town's streets.
