Tostado Festival in Santander
Tostado Festival honors Santander town's signature baked cookie delicacy, held the third Sunday of April alongside the feast of patron saint St. Gabriel the Archangel. Launched in 2006 by the municipal government, its street-dance choreography literally re-enacts the stages of making tostado, from mixing dough to baking it in clay ovens.
Santander sits at the southernmost point of Cebu island, a small municipality better known to most travelers as a jump-off port for Negros Occidental than as a festival destination in its own right.
