Festival of Four Cultures Lodz in Lodz
Festival of Four Cultures is a multidisciplinary Lodz festival honoring the German, Jewish, Polish, and Russian communities that shaped the city's history, running under its current name and organizer since 2010 after an earlier version closed amid financial irregularities. Running across roughly ten days spanning late August into September, it fills Lodz venues with opera, theater, classical music, and exhibitions tied to the city's layered history.
The Festival of Four Cultures began in Lodz in 2002 as the Festiwal Dialogu Czterech Kultur, founded on the initiative of Witold Knychalski and running for roughly ten days spanning late summer into early autumn each year through 2009.
