Tremor Festival in Sao Miguel
Tremor Festival brings experimental and new pop music to Sao Miguel each spring, staging concerts in both indoor venues and natural landscapes across the island, with Ribeira Grande and its Arquipelago Contemporary Arts Centre serving as a hub. The 2026 edition runs March 24-28 with performative hikes and artistic residencies built into the programme.
Sao Miguel is the largest island in the Azores, a volcanic archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic whose isolation has historically made it a place associated more with agriculture, dairy farming and whale-watching tourism than with a cutting-edge music scene.
