Hungarian Cultural Days of Cluj in Cluj-Napoca
The Hungarian Cultural Days of Cluj, known in Hungarian as Kolozsvari Magyar Napok, is the largest Hungarian-language festival in Transylvania, held every August 19 and 20 plus the surrounding week, organized since 2010 by the Treasure Cluj Association together with partner organizations across the city of Cluj-Napoca.
The Hungarian Cultural Days of Cluj takes its Hungarian name, Kolozsvari Magyar Napok, from the city's historical Hungarian name, Kolozsvar, and it times itself to two dates that matter deeply to that history: August 19, marking the day the city achieved municipal status, and August 20, Saint Stephen's Day, honoring Hungary's first king and one of the most significant dates on the Hungarian national and religious calendar.
