ARTmania Festival in Sibiu

ARTmania Festival is Romania's longest-running rock and metal festival, held every summer in the medieval Piata Mare square of Sibiu since 2006. Founded as the country's first event built around fusing rock culture with visual arts, it combines multi-day concerts with photography and painting exhibitions, film screenings, and interdisciplinary programming across the historic Transylvanian city center.

When ARTmania first set up a stage in Sibiu's Piata Mare in 2006, pairing amplified guitars with a square lined by Saxon merchant houses was itself the pitch: this would be Romania's first festival to treat rock and metal as forms of art rather than just live music.
