The story

Ivanovo Mirror Film Festival in Ivanovo/Plyos

The Andrei Tarkovsky International Film Festival Mirror, Zerkalo, has run annually in Ivanovo since 2007, established for the seventy-fifth anniversary of the director's birth. Named for Tarkovsky's 1975 film Mirror, it centers its main competition and events in Ivanovo while extending programming to nearby towns in Ivanovo Oblast, including Plyos.

Andrei Tarkovsky remains one of the most internationally studied Soviet filmmakers, known for a small body of formally ambitious features, including Ivan's Childhood, Andrei Rublev, Solaris, Mirror, and Stalker, made between the early 1960s and his death in exile in 1986.
