Chereshnevy Les Open Arts Festival in Moscow
Chereshnevy Les, or Cherry Forest, is an open festival of the arts that takes over some of Moscow's most prestigious cultural venues each year, from the Pushkin Museum to the Moscow Art Theatre and the Conservatory. What began as a modest chamber music event, founded by Bosco di Ciliegi's Mikhail and Edita Kusnirovitch, has grown into a wide-ranging showcase of theatre premieres, exhibitions, concerts, and publishing projects, occasionally extending to other Russian cities and Italy.
Chereshnevy Les began modestly enough, as a chamber music series with a memorable name borrowed from the cherry blossoms, chereshnya, that give the festival its identity.
