Summer in Moscow is the city's largest seasonal festival project, running for three months from June 1 across all of Moscow's districts. Over 10,000 cultural, sports, and charity events take place under its umbrella, including the Moscow Estates program, Theatrical Boulevard, and the Gardens and Flowers festival.

Moscow's Seasons program of street festivals began in 2012, when a Strasbourg-style Christmas fair proved successful enough that the city built an entire calendar of recurring seasonal events around the concept, Journey to Christmas, Moscow Spring, Golden Autumn, and eventually Summer in Moscow as the warm-weather anchor.
