Shine Bachata Festival in Moscow
Shine Bachata Festival is a multi-day international dance gathering held twice a year in Moscow, drawing more than a thousand dancers to master classes, showcase performances, and open social parties. Editions run in January and May, moving between venues such as the Crystal Ballroom in the OKO Tower and five-star hotel ballrooms, with instructors and dancers from across Russia and abroad.
Bachata began in the Dominican Republic in the mid-twentieth century as a guitar-driven music of the countryside and the poor, looked down upon by the island's elite before it moved into ballrooms and, eventually, dance floors worldwide.
