Benoy Spring Folk Art Festival in Novy Benoy
Benoevskaya Vesna is an annual Chechen folk culture and sport festival held in the highland village of Benoy in the Nozhai-Yurt district, first staged in 2015. Far from a small performance evening, it spans three venues, the village itself, Mount Ashne-Te and the Shira-Bena ethnographic museum, and combines folk performance with national sport competitions.
Chechen society has long been organized around teips, clan groupings that carry deep historical and territorial significance across the North Caucasus, and the Benoy teip is among the most prominent of these lineages.
