Living Spring Folk Creativity Festival

Living Spring is a district-wide festival of traditional folk culture in Stavropol Krai's Predgorny district, gathering hundreds of amateur ensembles from dozens of local settlements for a marathon day of performance at the House of Culture in the stanitsa of Yessentukskaya. A recent edition drew a record 2,500 participants across 500-plus creative groups performing Cossack dance, folk song and traditional instrumental music over roughly fifteen hours.

In the stanitsa of Yessentukskaya, a Cossack settlement in Stavropol Krai's Predgorny district, the local House of Culture hosts a performance marathon each year that would exhaust a professional touring company: roughly fifteen hours of folk song, Cossack dance and traditional instrumental music, delivered not by a handful of headline acts but by more than 500 separate amateur ensembles drawn from 43 settlements across the district.
