Pascha Krasnaya Easter Children's Choral Festival in Saint Petersburg
Pascha Krasnaya is an international Easter choral festival for children and youth, held each spring inside working Orthodox churches across Saint Petersburg's Admiralteysky District. Organized since 2010 by the city's Bortnyansky Children's School of Arts, it brings choirs from general schools, music schools and Sunday church schools together for sacred choral performances timed to the Orthodox Easter season.
Dmitri Bortnyansky spent much of his career in the late eighteenth century directing the choir of the Russian imperial court, composing sacred choral concertos that remain staples of Orthodox liturgical repertoire more than two centuries later.
