Tula's reputation rests on a single sentence from a nineteenth-century tale: a local craftsman took a mechanical flea sent by English engineers, invisible without a microscope, and shoed all four of its feet with tiny nailed horseshoes, engraving his own name on nails too small for the naked eye to read.
