Bequia Easter Regatta in Port Elizabeth/Bequia
The Bequia Easter Regatta is a four-day sailing and shoreside festival based in Port Elizabeth, combining traditional local double-ender boat racing with international yacht racing. Organized by the volunteer-run Bequia Sailing Club for more than 35 years, it grew from a Whitsun Weekend event into one of the best-known small-island regattas in the southern Caribbean.
For more than 35 years, Easter weekend on Bequia has meant one thing above all else: sails filling Admiralty Bay as the island's own double-ender sailboats race alongside visiting yachts from across the Caribbean and beyond, all organized by a small band of volunteers with no larger commercial backer than the Bequia Sailing Club itself.
