The Buraydah Date Festival, officially the Buraidah Dates Carnival, is billed as the world's largest date festival, held over roughly sixty days from early August in Buraidah, capital of Al Qassim Province, showcasing more than forty-five date varieties from the region's eleven million palm trees.

Each August, as much of Saudi Arabia settles into its hottest, quietest stretch of the year, the city of Buraidah in Al Qassim Province comes alive before dawn.
