The story

Dialaw Festival - Rythmes et Formes du Monde in Toubab Dialaw

Dialaw Festival - Rythmes et Formes du Monde is a free, multidisciplinary arts festival held each spring in the seaside village of Toubab Dialaw. Running since 2012, it mixes music, dance, theater, workshops and an artisan market around Lebou coastal culture, drawing artists and audiences to a five-day program by the ocean.

Toubab Dialaw is a small fishing village on Senegal's Petite Cote, roughly an hour south of Dakar, that over recent decades has become an informal gathering place for artists, sculptors and musicians drawn to its cliffside views and easygoing pace.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Toubab Dialaw is already known as an artists' retreat on Senegal's Petite Cote, and this festival, whose name translates to Rhythms and Forms of the World, leans into that identity by combining music, dance, theater, workshops, exhibitions and an artisan market into a single free, open program rather than a ticketed concert series

02

The mystery stays covered

Each edition is organized around a theme, framed in 2026 as sowing the heritage of possibilities, and the festival explicitly foregrounds Lebou coastal culture alongside international artistic exchange, positioning Toubab Dialaw's beachfront setting itself as part of the creative program rather than mere backdrop
