Vrnjacka Banja Screenplay Festival in Vrnjačka Banja

The Vrnjacka Banja Screenplay Festival has run almost every year since 1977, growing out of an earlier feature-film review in the spa town. Held each August at the Danilo Bata Stojkovic Amphitheater, it awards the Golden Pen for screenwriting and, since its twentieth edition, runs a Summer School of Film Dramaturgy for young writers.

Vrnjacka Banja is Serbia's best-known spa town, a place people have traveled to for its mineral springs since the nineteenth century, and since 1977 it has also hosted the country's only festival built specifically around the screenplay.
