Seychelles Ocean Festival in Beau Vallon/Victoria
Seychelles Ocean Festival is an annual marine-conservation event held at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort and Casino on Mahe, pairing an interactive Ocean Conservation Exhibition with art and creative-writing competitions for young people. The 2024 edition ran under the theme Our Ocean, your home, our livelihood, closing with a prize ceremony for the winning entries at the resort.
Seychelles is an archipelago whose economy and identity are built almost entirely around the ocean: tourism and fisheries together account for the large majority of national income, and the country has committed a large share of its exclusive economic zone to marine protection under a debt-for-nature swap agreed in the 2010s.
