Assumption Day Festival is La Digue's patronal feast, held every August 15 in honour of Notre Dame de l'Assomption, the parish that gives the island its Catholic identity. Boatloads of visitors from Mahe and Praslin converge for a Mass at the parish church followed by a day of communal celebration, making it the single busiest and most anticipated date on La Digue's annual calendar.
