The story

Arts in Your Neighbourhood in Multiple towns

Arts in Your Neighbourhood is a National Arts Council initiative bringing curated art trails and site-specific installations into Singapore's housing estates twice yearly, in March and November, rotating through different towns each edition. The November 2025 edition covered Bukit Merah, Jurong, Marine Parade, Serangoon, and Tampines, with installations inspired by residents' memories, local heritage, and neighbourhood flora and fauna, plus digital programming for other areas.

Arts in Your Neighbourhood is a National Arts Council initiative built on a simple premise: bring professionally curated public art directly into Singapore's housing estates rather than expecting residents to travel to a gallery or theatre.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Unlike resident-crafted programmes such as PAssionArts, Arts in Your Neighbourhood is curated by professional artists commissioned by the National Arts Council, who develop site-specific installations and walking trails responding directly to each selected town's history, residents' childhood memories, and local ecology

02

The mystery stays covered

Rotating through a different set of towns each edition means the festival never repeats itself in the same location twice in a row, giving each town a bespoke, one-time engagement rather than a recurring annual fixture, while digital programming extends the initiative's reach to residents in towns not selected for that edition's physical trail
