Bardejov Fair in Bardejov

The Bardejovský jarmok traces its roots to first mentions of trading fairs in Bardejov during the 14th century, and its modern incarnation now runs each August for about four days inside the town's UNESCO-listed historic core, mixing merchants, craftspeople and traditional fair food with music, dance and children's entertainment.

Bardejov's old town is one of the best-preserved medieval town centres in Slovakia, recognized by UNESCO for its intact square, town hall and burgher houses, and the Bardejovský jarmok is essentially an attempt to make that preserved backdrop function the way it originally did: as the setting for a genuine trading fair.
