Ljubljana Festival in Ljubljana
The Ljubljana Festival is Slovenia's oldest and most prestigious arts festival, founded in 1953 and among the longest-running summer festivals in Europe. Its 72nd edition runs from 20 June to 3 September with around 100 events spanning classical music, opera, ballet, theatre, dance, jazz, and popular music, staged mainly within the Plečnik-designed open-air Križanke complex and other landmark Ljubljana venues.
The Ljubljana Festival was founded in 1953, making it Slovenia's oldest continuously running cultural festival and placing it among the longest-established summer arts festivals anywhere in Europe, alongside far larger and better-funded counterparts in cities such as Salzburg and Edinburgh.
