Vilenica International Literary Festival in Lokev/Ljubljana
Vilenica International Literary Festival is an annual early-September literary event on Slovenia's Karst Plateau, founded in 1986 by poet Veno Taufer among others. The main prize ceremony takes place inside Vilenica Cave near Lokev, with the Crystal Vilenica award given at Stanjel Castle. Organized by the Slovene Writers' Association, it awards the Vilenica International Literary Prize to a Central European author.
Vilenica takes its name from the cave where its central ceremony happens - a limestone cavern on the Karst Plateau, near the villages of Lokev and Lipica in Slovenia's Littoral region.
