Poetry Africa in Durban

Poetry Africa is an international poetry festival held annually in Durban, organised by the Centre for Creative Arts at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Running seven to ten days each year, it has hosted more than 300 poets and writers across more than fifteen editions, with a finale performance staged at the harbourside BAT Centre.

Poetry Africa is organised by the Centre for Creative Arts, a multidisciplinary arts body within the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, which positions itself as a facilitator, promoter, networker and capacity builder for the region's artistic community.
