Tamborrada San Sebastian in San Sebastian
San Sebastian's Tamborrada is a twenty-four-hour relay of marching drum companies that begins at midnight on 20 January and does not stop until the following midnight, with more than a hundred groups dressed as nineteenth-century soldiers or army cooks beating drums and barrels through the old town on rotating routes.
Tamborrada begins at the stroke of midnight on 20 January, when the mayor of San Sebastian raises the city flag in the Plaza de la Constitucion and the first drum roll launches twenty-four uninterrupted hours of marching.
