Las Fallas in Valencia

Valencia's March festival of satirical sculptures, built by neighborhood committees and burned citywide on the final night in the ritual called La Crema. Daily mascletà firework displays, silk-dressed falleras offering flowers to a giant Virgin, and UNESCO-recognized status since 2016 define a festival unlike any other in Spain or Europe.

Las Fallas fills Valencia each March with hundreds of towering fallas, satirical sculptures built from wood, papier-mache, and polystyrene by neighborhood committees competing for prestige, only to burn every single one to the ground on the festival's final night in a ritual called La Crema.
